Benjamin Shield,
Ph.D.
Dr. Benjamin Shield is a craniosacral therapist,
Rolfer, educator, and author living in Los Angeles. He received his
bachelor degree in biology from the University of California with
graduate studies at the Boston University School of Medicine and
Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. His doctorate degree
is in the field of health sciences.
Benjamin’s work focuses on the integration
of body, mind, and soul, while helping individuals to reduce levels
of pain and to access an exceptional level of emotional and physical
choice in their lives. He believes that healing and spirituality
share common denominators and are accessible to each of us.
He has taught numerous courses relating to health
care and techniques in the United States, Canada and Europe. Benjamin
is a founding board member of the International Association of Yoga
Therapists and the American CranioSacral Therapy Association. He
is a participant in the University of California Family Practice
Program in which resident physicians precept in his practice to learn
more about alternative healing techniques.
Benjamin has authored numerous articles on psychology,
healing, and spirituality. His most recent books, For the Love of
God (1997), Handbook for the Heart (1996), Handbook for the Soul
(1995), and Healers on Healing (1989), have been translated into
various languages throughout the world.
He was featured on the BBC / Canadian TV series “Medicine
or Magic?” (1994), and the Discovery Health Channel’s “Medical
Diaries” (2000). Benjamin has written two articles for the
German dental journal, ZMK (1999, 2000). He is a contributor to the
books Alternative Medicine (1993) and The Definitive Guide to Headaches
(1997). He was recently featured in the books Preventing Arthritis:
A Holistic Approach to Life without Pain (2001) and The Journey:
A Road Map to the Soul (1999). |
