Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Can I receive credit for your classes?
A: The classes are considered continuing education classes and massage practitioners can receive 24-32 hours, depending on the class, through the National Massage Board. The Milne Institute is not a school and cannot give college credit for Anatomy, Ethics and/or Physiology. We are avocational only.
Q: I see that you schedule classes back to back, can I take all of them or is it better to take one at a time?
A: We only allow students to take three cranial classes back to back. For most students two classes back to back are just fine depending on their schedule.
Q: What do I need to do in order to register for
the C1 class?
A: Minimum of a 500-hour massage training or other
professional degree in touch and a license to touch where this is
required by the State. If you have questions about this please contact us.

Q: How many classes can I take in a row (back-to-back)?
A:
A maximum of three.
Q: What is the ideal flow of taking the MII classes?
A:
The ideal class flow remains 1-2-3-4-5-6-7.
Q: When classes are scheduled back-to-back, what
do I have to do to fulfill the Certification Track (CT) requirements
for professional sessions and client sessions?
A:
MII does not expect you to fulfill the class requirements in the
three days between classes.
•MII expects you to ‘catch up’ with
your requirements after the second class is over, and before your
next class. (That is, the exception does not carry over to future
classes.)
Q: When should I take a Review Class?
A: Whenever
one is offered, and as early in your training as possible.
Q: Are there any other ways to get credit for the
Review Classes?
A: You can repeat a class (50% off class price), or
be a Springer in a class, or assist in a class.
• In order to assist in a class you have to be
on the certification track and have already taken the class.
Q: What do I need to register for a Cranial 2 (C2)
class?
A: Successful completion of C1.
• Read the required chapters in "Heart
of Listening"

Q: Can a student take a C3 before they have taken
a C2?
A: No, C1 and C2 are the foundation classes and
it is so important to take both C1 and C2 before C3 and C4.
• Register with the class Organizer.
Q: What do I need to register for a Cranial 4 (C4)
A:
Successful completion of C1 and C2, and preferably also C3

of Listening"
• Required:
10, 20, 37, 38 and 41

Q: Can I take a C4 before I have taken a C3?
A:
Yes, but the ideal flow of the classes is C1-C2-C3-C4-C5-C6.
• If you do decide to take C4 before C3, then this
does create a difficulty in taking the Review Days, and may necessitate
the student arranging for a special (and expensive) tutorial.
Q: What do I need to register for a Cranial 5 (C5)
A:
If you are on the certification track then you need to have filled out the application and sent in your 40
corrected Client records and 40 sessions sign-offs. (In other words,
you need to give at least 80 ninety-minute VCSW sessions, half of
which must be documented on a CR, half of which are signed off by
the client.)
• These CRs need to be received not later than
21 days before the C5 class is due to start – it is not good
practice (and not acceptable) to rush them in at the last minute.
• Successful
completion of C1 thru C4
• Successful completion
of Review Days for C1 thru C4
• Minimum 8 student exchanges
• Minimum of 8 professional sessions
• Read the required and recommended
chapters in "Heart of Listening"
• Register with the class
Organizer.
If you are on the experiential track then you need to read the chapters in Heart of Listening and have taken C1-C4.
Q: Can I take a C6 before I have taken a C5?
A: Yes,
but the ideal class flow remains 1-2-3-4-5-6-7.
• All the ‘before the class’ requirements,
as delineated in the previous answer, have to be fulfilled for C6
if it is taken before C5
Q: What do I need to register for a Cranial 6 (C6)?
A:
If you are enrolled on the Certification track
• You need 50 corrected Client records and 50 session
sign offs

C5)

thru C5
